History

History

In year 1972 the VEB (publicly-owned business) "Zweigarnspinnerei" started production of polypropylen-tapes and fibrillated yarns for the carpet industry in the GDR. Once the production started with 2 extrusion lines for tapes, the capacity grew to six extrusion lines until 1986.

After more than 20 years the company should stop the production in year 1993. But resolute employees believed in the future, and so the SAXA-SYNTAPE Ltd. developed.

  • 16.07.1992 - official foundation of SAXA-SYNTAPE Ltd.
  • 01.04.1993 - beginning production after defrayal 2 tape extrusion lines from "Treuhand-Anstalt" (Trust Agency was established by government of GDR to reprivatize East German enterprises)
  • 1995 - conversion of film blowing machines in modern chill-roll-lines
  • 2000-2003 - modernization of line 2
  • 2007-2009 - investment yarn refining sector and expansion production capacity
  • 2008 - purchase the previously rented warehouse
  • 2021 - purchase, restoration and expansion additionally buildings
  • 2021 - founding business area surface fabrics
  • 2021 - founding technical center
  • 2022 - investment using renewable energies
  • 2023 - installation and starting weaving and knitting
